1. Introduction

Welcome to Documentor. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Documentor's documentation platform, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Definitions

  • "Documentor","we","us", or "our" refers to Documentor and its affiliates
  • "User","you", or"your" refers to any individual or entity using our Services
  • "Content" means any documents, text, files, images, or other materials uploaded to or created through the Services
  • "Organization" refers to a workspace or team account created within Documentor

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of our Services, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Use the Services to send spam, phishing, or unsolicited communications
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from our Services
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without our written permission
  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

5. Your Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to the Content you create, upload, or store through our Services. Documentor does not claim ownership of your Content.

5.2 License Grant

By uploading Content to our Services, you grant Documentor a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, and transmit your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Services. This license terminates when you delete your Content or account.

5.3 Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your Content and the consequences of uploading or publishing it. You represent that you have all necessary rights to your Content and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

6. Intellectual Property

The Services, including all software, design, text, graphics, logos, and other materials (excluding your Content), are owned by Documentor and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services for their intended purpose, subject to these Terms. This license does not include the right to:

  • Modify, copy, or create derivative works of the Services
  • Sublicense, sell, or transfer your rights to use the Services
  • Use our trademarks without prior written consent

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Subscription Plans

Some features of our Services require a paid subscription. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees as described at the time of purchase.

7.2 Billing

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your chosen plan. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as expressly stated in these Terms.

7.3 Price Changes

We may change our prices at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price increase.

7.4 Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. To exercise this right, contact us at support@documentor.app. Note that if you begin using the Services during the withdrawal period, you may be charged for the services used.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of our Services but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Services for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will provide reasonable notice when possible.

9. Data Portability and Switching

In accordance with the EU Data Act (applicable from September 2025), you have the right to:

  • Export your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format
  • Switch to another service provider with reasonable notice (at least 2 months)
  • Request assistance with data migration to another provider

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Documentor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities

These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under EU consumer protection laws.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, this disclaimer does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Documentor and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your Content

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately.

13.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. We will provide reasonable notice when possible, except in cases of serious violations of these Terms.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, we may delete your Content after a reasonable retention period (typically 30 days). You may request export of your data before termination. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any disputes informally. For EU consumers, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14.3 Jurisdiction

Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Your EU Member State]. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services and may terminate your account.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Documentor.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
  • Force Majeure: We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
